late into the night
a calmness
distills the mind.
the hanging light bulb stops
all movement is still.
the buzzing wind quiets,
giving way to peace.
a calm
greater than the pyramids
thousand year stillness,
quieter than the ice sheets
on the darkest nights, ventless.
a raging boom flickers
like the light of the old man's lamp
before darkness sets in the mind
late, deep, into the night.
Very impressive. I would add that maybe you need to add more elements of EMOTION into that poem, make it hit the heart!
